Andrei Hadap is a Sydney-based pianist, composer, scholar, and teacher. He completed his Bachelor of Music (Piano Performance) at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music in 2021, graduating with First-Class Honours and several academic awards while studying under Stephanie McCallum and Erin Helyard.

As a pianist, Andrei made his orchestral debut performing Brahms' First Piano Concerto with the Penrith Symphony Orchestra and later performed Beethoven's Fourth Piano Concerto in 2023. He was the inaugural Continuo Fellow for Pinchgut Opera (2021–2023), performing regularly with the Orchestra of the Antipodes. His performances have been praised for their expressive playing, refined articulation, technical command, and musical sensitivity.

An active composer, Andrei's music has been described as imaginative, atmospheric, and vividly orchestrated. In 2025, he was awarded the prestigious 2MBS Stefan Kruger Scholarship to support the performance, recording, and publication of his compositions. That same year, he won the Willoughby Symphony Orchestra Young Composer Award for his orchestral work Charon's Barcarolle, which critics described as "a prize richly deserved." In 2026, he was awarded the Sydney Symposium Choral Composition Scholarship to write a new choral work for Gondwana Choirs.

Alongside his performing and composing career, Andrei is an emerging scholar with research interests in nineteenth-century piano pedagogy, historical performance, and music theory. In 2025, he was appointed Postgraduate Fellow at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music and completed his PhD in Musicology there the following year. His teaching draws upon historical pedagogical traditions, integrating performance, improvisation, and composition into his approach.

Andrei is also an organist, serving as Organ Scholar at St. Stephen's Uniting Church, where he performs both the organ repertoire and his own compositions and improvisations. He is regularly invited to collaborate with choirs throughout Sydney.
